Why Words Are Important

     Words matter. What you say, and how you say it, has the ability to influence days and lives. Words can bring life or they can bring death and destruction.      "Words" by Hawk Nelson describes exactly this. Words have the power to enslave, captivate, criminalize, and bring despair. Oppositely, words also have the power to transform people's lives. In words, there can be freedom and redemption. Words can bring hope in a world of hopelessness. They can bring peace in the midst of chaos and joy in the midst of sorrow.      Not only do the words we say to each other matter, but the language we use to speak to ourselves matters as well. I made a small mistake? Is my internal dialogue berating? Am I beating myself up, being my own worst critic, and harsh towards myself?
