Let's Talk About Joy

Let's talk about joy. Joy can feel so fleeting. Joy can be an emotion or a state. Being joyful can be a personality trait or characteristic. Joy can be such a blessing. But joy is not the same as happiness.

You see, happiness is fleeting. Happiness comes and goes. It is available, but not always attainable. Happiness seems to be influence by where we are, who we are with, what we are doing, and a multitude of other things.

Joy, though, joy is always available. Joy is a mindset that we are all capable of achieving. Thanks to the goodness of God, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, joy is available. God wants us to have and experience His joy. Isn't that remarkable? God wants that for us, His people. He is not a God of punishment, hatred, disgust, and despair. No, He wants us to feel lasting joy. The way to that joy? To the Father through Jesus His Son.

Jesus' death on the cross, his burial, and His miraculous resurrection, we as believers are free to experience, bathe in, and jump for joy. It was Jesus' sacrifice that makes joy possible. In Jesus, we have connection to the Father, peace, comfort, and joy forever in eternal with the Godhead, and the blessing of the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.

God's goodness towards us, His faithfulness, His direction, planning, and steps all can give me peace in knowing that He is good and He has a plan for me. This can bring about comfort even when I am in situations that don't feel the best. The joy of the Lord will be my strength. His mercies are new, His heart is kind, He is compassionate and gracious in all that He does. For this, I will rejoice, because I know that my Savior lives, reigns, and will forever have good planned for me. Thank you, Lord.

I started this blog as a memoir to share some of my life stories with you. My goal is that these encourage and educate you on how to live a more joyful, healthier, full life; one of hope.

I write about my fascination with whole foods, my love of Jesus, my struggles, my childhood stories, my passion for education, and my devotion to creating a healthy life (body, mind, and spirit) for every person in the world.
